Always known for his strong views, respected preacher Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka has lashed out at Super Eagles midfielder John Obi Mikel suggesting that the Chelsea player be dropped from the national team.

Though the statement was made last year, the video of  Rev. Mbaka suggesting that Mikel is on the wane has been a trending item on the Internet in the last couple of days.
Rev. Mbaka was reacting to the Super Eagles Saturday, September 6, 2-3 defeat to Congo in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar.
He criticised then Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi for not starting striker, Emmanuel Emenike before laying the blame of the Super Eagles midfielder and Mikel Obi.

"There was no body in the midfielder and the coach had no courage to change it," Mbaka said.
"Thank God this boy called Mikel Obi has helped Nigeria in the past but for now Mikel Obi should not be in the Super Eagles team.
"He is my friend, I like him, but now he has waned, he can't perform."
With Sunday Oliseh now as Super Eagles coach, we are still waiting to see if the Chelsea midfielder is still in his plans.
Mikel has not played for the Super Eagles for almost a year now and has seen first team chances at Chelsea limited.
Oliseh was in London to watch the Charity Shield game between Arsenal and Chelsea where Mikel was once again missing.
His compatriot Victor Moses was a second half substitute in the game and also met with Oliseh after the game.
